Sheepdog Security Ministry (SSM)wants to provide its services to all who need it, regardless of their ability to pay. Those who can pay for our services will. But those who cannot... well we want to make sure they get the training also.
Nice words. A nice sentiment. But we all know, the world doesn't run on good intentions.
This ministry needs sponsors to provide scholarships to Sheepdog Academy course attendees. Or, described another way, Christian men and women who want to prepare for the possibility that violence will enter their world one day. Or, even violence that may enter yours. (Are you a church? A school? a small business? A large business?)
Our site is full of details about how we provide services, why we provide them and to whom. If you are looking at this page, you might be someone who wants to support such an effort.
SSM uses a program of donations that convert to named scholarships. Any business or citizen that "Sponsors" a Sheepdog, or more than one, will have a scholarship named after them (If they so choose) and the person receiving that scholarship will be provided a notificatin that they are training with that benefactor as their sponsor. Businesses, churches, schools or individial citizens may become sponsors.
At SSm we are proud of our sponsors and want people who attend Sheepdog Academy to know who is believing in them, who is making it possible for them to receive this training. It is important for them to know who thinks this is important, who is standing behind them.
At SSM, we also realize that you may not want your personal name placed on a Scholarship (We love it if you want it there, though) and as such, we will allow you to sponsor "On behalf of" or "in memory of" any person or event you wish to honor or commemorate.
Your money will go a long way. For example, a $10,000 Scholarship Fund in your business or organization's name would sponsor 50 students to go through Sheepdog training courrses. That's 50 people now trained to respond to violent situations like assault, active shooter events, rape, aggressive assault, robbery or simply avoiding a developing situation. Those 50 people might be one of the people nearby when it happens in your own life..
The more scholarships we combine with paying attendees, the more prepared people are walking around in the world we all live in.
Please know that the funds moving through Sheedog Academy make it possible for us to not only create sheepdogs all over the country, people who will know how to stand and protect themselves and others, but also services to churches and schools brave enough and enlightened enough to have the forethought to prepare for such things as well, a service we do not ask them to pay for. Our Academy supports our Ministry.
We are not yet a non-profit organization. We are in the process of working all that out. If you know anything about becoming a Non-profit capable of providing receipts for donations that can be written off, you know it isn't a simple task. But we are in the process. In return for your scholarship funding, we will use your name as often and in as many places as we can. You will be an official Sheepdog Sponsor, listed on our website, in the paperwork received by those who receive your scholarships and any other way we can think of. (Do you have ideas?)
