"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; ..."
"Who rises up for me against the wicked? Who stands up for me against evildoers?"
There may come a time when you have to be a part of something that was thrust upon you. A time when you have to fight, even though you have no wish to. Are you ready for that?
"Sheepdog Academy" is our program for training Christians to be ready for just that moment.
In the universal image of God's flock, there is the Shepard, the Sheep, the Wolf... and the Sheepdog. we all understand the roles that we play in this scenario. But there is a dividing line between being a sheep, a wolf or a sheepdog. Sheepdog Academy makes Sheepdogs out of sheep. We want to train people to go from being the victim of the wolf, to being the reason the wolf cannot prevail.
Our classes are designed to accomplish two main things;
- Educate Christians as to their real obligations in a scenario where they or someone in their protection is being threatened by real violence.
- Educate Christians as to the physical means God has placed at their disposal to detect, deter and derail violent situations. This includes the range of doing things to avoid being in a violent situation all the way to rendering an attacker unable to continue his/her attack.
One need not be ninja-minded, or particulaly strong, or particularly bold to be a Sheepdog. You don't have to have a desire to continue your training, this is not an "Introduction". You don't have to be able to memorize techniques 9although we will show you some tips and tricks). You must just be willing to stand when others can not.
You will learn how to think your way through a violent scenario, how to respond in such a way as to respect life but protect yours and others and how to keep from being a victim.
