At Sheepdog Security Ministry, we provide services to the Christian Community to assist them in preparing to resist violence in their communities. Whether it be in their churches, their schools or in their daily life, Christian communities need a resource to train them, help them plan for and respond to the violence that is welling up in the world against them. We want all Christians to live without fear; To have the answer to the question swimming around in every Christian's heart; "What would I do?" Christian Gun Training- for Women

Learn about what God has in mind for you as a protector of his flock, your family and your community. What are your obligations? Is it OK to defend yourself? Isn't fighting back against our Christian Values?

Recent events make it clear that preparation is prudent. One day, we may all be called upon to become Sheepdogs, even just for a few moments. On that day, we should report to the Shepherd that His sheep have been protected and that the wolf was held at bay.

Personal security, home security, school security and church security are all our responsibility. Prepare well. Develop courage, foster calm and cool thinking. Know your plan. Be Vigilant. Now, more than ever, the Shepherd needs His Sheepdogs.

Don't just learn how to shoot. Learn how to use a gun as a tool to keep you safe. Hitting a target is not enough. You need to understand your attacker, understand the situation and understand when you can use your gun. 

Remember, the gun is not the weapon. YOU are. Train yourself, learn to think, learn to respond and your gun becomes a tool of a thinking, feeling moral person. Without that training, it is just a hugely dangerous thing weighing down your bag.

This is an excellent Mother/Daughter activity. We will train appropriate aged children along with you.

Course Goals

  • Learn about guns. Simple. Names, vocabulary, how they work, etc.
  • Safe gun handling techniques
  • Types of guns and what may be right for you, how to select the right gun for you
  • How to secure your gun in your home
  • Understand the Christian Nature of self-defense
  • Understand the obligations that come with carrying a gun (Good Samaritan)
  • learn to target shoot (Indoor range Training)
  • Learn how to carry a concealed pistol
  • Learn how to get your concealed Pistol License (CPL)
  • Learn what is different about you carrying a pistol vs. a man carrying a pistol. 
  • Know how to use a pistol as a weapon of self defense
  • Know how to use a pistol to defend others
  • Learn about situation awareness and how to AVOID having to use your gun
  • Understand the HUGE difference between target shooting and the possibility of shooting a human being. Frank discussions.

Group training = $199 for two sessions, three to four hours each.

These are words that every Christian parent longs for their children to wholeheartedly implement in their lives. But sometimes, in our desire for the safety of those we love, we “hamstring” them, by curtailing the opportunities to effect change, because we see the all-to-real dangers. Changing the world isn’t supposed to be safe - this is a battleground after all. However, after working with Lorne Curl, I know it doesn’t have to be (and shouldn’t be) unnecessarily dangerous either. Approaching instruction in personal security and self-defense within the perfect framework of the Catholic Church’s teachings regarding the dignity of every human being and our call to be soldiers for Christ, Mr. Curl gives practical, effective and yes, fun instruction.     • To be honest, when my parents recently and strongly “suggested”/insisted that I take some concentrated private lessons with Mr. Curl before moving to New York City, I was apprehensive. Besides being very short of time, I thought I would likely humiliate myself with ineptitude. Furthermore I wasn’t eager to think about, must less discuss the issues surrounding safety (particularly, female safety) with a family friend. I need not have worried. Mr. Curl, a father of four, two of whom are, like myself, young adult women, is passionate about the protection of his family, and teaching as many as possible how to have the best chance of protection of self and others. Not only did I feel entirely comfortable learning with Mr. Curl and discussing those issues but I really did have fun. If you have the opportunity to train with Mr. Curl, jump at it. I hope that someday Mr. Curl will be able to teach his courses throughout the country so many more men and women will have the practical tools to promote the safety and dignity of themselves and those around them, and thus not have to succumb to fear, which frees us to better be able to…
